ACRYLIC POUR PAINTINGS
Acrylic pour painting involves acrylic paint mixed with a medium that holds it in suspension. The colors are premixed, creating more of a marbling effect than a typical acrylic paint application. Because the colors are premixed, using a brush would give the paint a muddy look. Other implements may be used, such as chains, strings of beads, eating utensils, and toothpicks. The paint is literally poured onto the canvas and will spread to form patterns. I usually go in with acrylic paint pens for final details. The results are unpredictable and require on-the-spot reaction and flexibility- just like life.
